Kohera3D Piping

Kohera3D™ Piping is a cost-effective feature extraction program that provides tools to efficiently fit piping components to 3D laser scan data. Kohera3D™ Laser Scanning Solutions was born out of the need for Summit Engineering and Design, LLC to have immediate, practical solutions to the barriers that limited the effective use of the extremely powerful technology of 3D Laser Scanning. Kohera3D™ Piping is a standalone program that does not require a CAD program license to fit piping systems. Create scan projects and volume boxes with supported file formats such as ptx, e57, and Faro fls.

Kohera3D™ Piping is a cost-effective feature extraction program that provides tools to efficiently fit piping components to 3D laser scan data.

Piping components can be exported as centerlines and precise "snap to points" for use in other CAD and piping software programs such as AutoCAD's Plant 3D.

Users can create and export volumes or select their own scan points and have those exported into file formats such as txt, dxf, and the industry standard E57 laser scanning file format.

Price is $1600 USD, $400 per year for subscription updates.

A standalone program that does not require a CAD program license to fit piping systems.

Create projects from registered scan data, including registered E57, PTX, and FARO scan files.

Fit cylinders to scan data by selecting one or more seed points along a pipe or by selecting an area of the pipe in the scan data.

Extend the cylinder fit for straight pipe across fittings or gaps in the scan data.

Add fittings to pipe sections such as elbows, tees, and valves, and generate the precise snap-to points for design in CAD.

Apply "volume filters" to limit displayed data to spherical, rectangular, cylindrical, and planar regions.

Improve local clarity of scan data with Kohera3D’s "Spotlight" feature, which displays a higher density of scan data in a local region, even while navigating.

Make measurements in the scan data, including both distance, and x, y, and z components.

Perform enhanced scan filtering of mixed-pixels.

Export key model data for import into CAD piping design programs.

Exports contain pipe routing polylines that can be quickly and accurately converted to piping systems by piping design programs such as AutoDesk Plant 3D.

Note: Large projects will require more space, up to several hundred GB for scan data alone
